OpenFPGA Steering Group Meeting - January 3, 2006

OpenFPGA Steering Group Call-in Summary

Participating: OSC, Sandia National Lab, University of South Carolina, SGI

The OpenFPGA website is in the process of being updated.

• A useful addition would be to have an inventory of individual expertise in the FPGA area.
• Similarly include a list of upcoming FPGA related events
• Also suggested to add a page to help beginners in FPGA programming
• Site should remain vendor neutral for content. Linking to vendor sites is alright.

Working group updates

• Mailing lists are set up
• Need a database of who is in each working group
• Someone to lead the applications library working group is needed

Organizational updates

• Bylaws are started for a stand alone non-profit
• Exploring possibility to get support from a former supercomputer user group
• Input provided last July on organizational aims to be included in bylaw development

Opportunity for next steering group meeting being considered

• Looking FPGA in Monterey, FCCM in April and FPGA meeting in Manchester.
