OpenFPGA Steering Group Call-in Summary

Participating: OSC, Oak Ridge National Lab, Nallatech, HPTi, SRC, Mitrion, SGI

Additional input from the SC05 BOF was discussed.

Working group updates

• Organizing leads have been identified
• Need mechanism for chairs to report progress
• Will include reports in steering group meeting
• Groups haven’t been promoted yet, waiting for infrastructure to be established
• Commercial entities will be asked to support financially, $500/year/entity
• Need to establish working group on benchmarking FPGAs

Organizational updates

• Need to get started. Most difficult thing is to move ahead legally.
• Invoices will be sent for reimbursement of cost for OpenFPGA t-shirts from SC05
• Tagline for OpenFPGA adopted for ‘defining reconfigurable supercomputing’
• OpenFPGA mailing list o be used for general communication and announcements
• Adding steering group participants through acclamation. Added Tarek El-Ghazawi
