OpenFPGA Steering Group Meeting - June 7-8, 2005

Attending: U of South Carolina, OSC, Sandia National Lab, U of Cincinnati, NCSA, Starbridge Systems, GE, Mitrion, ZIB, Koan Corporation, U of Toledo

The review of action items -

  • There were no concerns about distributing the summary from the past meeting
  • The planning for the face-to-face steering group meeting is underway, targeted for July.
  • Efforts are underway to learn more about Recon05 conference in Mexico
  • Draft organizational charter has not progressed from outline form

Forum activity has largely consisted of postings by steering group members. Forum coaches will step up efforts to broaden and participation in the available forums, including increased publicity and posting of provocative questions

More publicity resources will be made available at the OpenFPGA website for presentations, posters etc. Steering group members will working to broaden participation. More information will be linked from the OpenFPGA site.

Planning for a BOF at SC05 is commencing.

The agenda for a first steering group meeting was proposed to focus around the organizational charter, planning for SC05 and increasing participation in the OpenFPGA effort.

Collaborative efforts will look to be started specific project and application areas for FPGA systems in enterprise and high-performance computing.
